My sister’s boyfriend is a firefighter around Portland, Oregon. Anyway, I got to wear turnouts and tour a fire truck. Which is as exciting as it was when you’re 5, just for the record.

What a fantastic idea. If you are ever in Portland, OR (and I encourage you to visit for other reasons as well) you should definitely see if OMSI After Dark is a possibility.
Still can’t figure out whether this is legitimate sarcasm or not.
Note the distinct lack of activity that is, in fact, rather characteristic of the Oregon coast.
